Sania Mirza Named as a mentor of RCB In WPL: The brand’s philosophy resonates with my vision

Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) appointed Indian tennis legend Sania Mirza as the team’s mentor for the Women’s Premier League (WPL). The team will begin its campaign against Delhi Capitals on March 5.

By Crox Media Desk: Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) played a bold move as they announced Indian Tennis Legend Sania Mirza as the team’s mentor for the Women’s Premier League (WPL) 2023. 

Mirza won six grand slams and played her last tournament at the 2023 Australian Open. She along with Rohan Bopanna was the runners-up in the mixed doubles event.

On joining RCB as a women’s mentor she said, “It was a pleasure to be part of RCB women’s team as a mentor. Indian women’s cricket has seen a tectonic shift with the women’s premier league and I am really looking forward to this revolutionary change its vision resonates with my mine and it is quite similar to when I approached playing Tennis and it’s also how I see contributing to sports my post-retirement”

RCB star-studded team at the WPL auction on February 13th adding Indian Opener Simriti Mandhana, Australian opener Ellyse Perry, England’s world cup winning captain Heather Knight, New Zealand Captain Sophie Devine. Mandhana become the costlier player in the first-ever auction as she was snapped by RCB for INR 3.4 Crore.

Royal Challengers will begin its campaign against Delhi Capitals on March 5.
