By Crox Media Desk: Australian Captain Pat Cummins will fly back home in the middle of the high-profile Test Series to attend to a private family matter, Australian media reported this in the early hours of Monday 20th February. Cummins is expected to join back ahead of the 3rd Test Match, set to commence from 1st march in Indore.
Under the leadership of Pat Cummins, Australia had not performed up to the mark in the sub-continent and faced defeats in the first three days of both tests in Nagpur and Delhi. Australia is on the radar of getting knocked out of the WTC final if they get cleansweeped by India in the series. Coming into the four-match tour, Australia was primed to play the final in England, either against India, Srilanka, or South Africa.
However, as things stand, India is eyeing the top spot in the final with Srilanka, while the Aussies may get knocked out. And things for Australia are not going as per the planning. In the second thing, despite starting well and closing Day on 61/1, Australia was bowled out for 113 runs in the morning session of Day 3.
Speaking right after the game, Cummins said his batters need to apply themselves better and find a way to score more runs.
“I think there would be a review. Shot choice. Did we go about it as desired? Cummins said after the match.
He further added, unfortunately, many of us got out quite earlier and got out in undesired fashion”
