Argentina’s star player Lionel Messi has admitted that he would be open to playing in the next edition of the Football World Cup. Messi achieved his dream in Qatar last year as he guided the team to claim their third World Cup.

Keeping it Short

  • Messi Captained Argentina and won the FIFA Cup in Qatar last year.
  • The 35-year-old admitted that he is going to play in FIFA World Cup 2026 but it depends on how his career is going at this point.
  • Lionel Scaloni had claimed he is going to make it to the next world cup.

By Crox Media Desk: Argentina Superstar Player Lionel Messi said that he is open to playing in the next World Cup 2026 and commented he would be available for the next tournament.

Messi Fulfilled his lifelong dream of lifting the FIFA Cup last year in Qatar. The 35-year-old finished the tournament with a golden ball for the best player in the competition and had seven goals to his name.

Little Magician from Argentina said his participation in FIFA 2026 largely depends on how his career is going at that point in time.

He told Diario Ole, a local newspaper in Argentina, “because of age it would be difficult to make it till 2026. I love playing football and while I feel like I am in good shape and enjoying this. I am going to keep it, it seems like a long time until the Next World Cup, but it all depends on how my career is then”

Argentina’s Coach Lionel Scaloni claimed last month that Messi can make it to the 2026 World Cup and said the door will always remain open for him.

Scaloni told Spanish Radio Calvia Last Month, “I think Messi can make it to the Next World Cup. “It all depends on what he wants and what happens in that time, if he is happy to go on the pitch then it would be great for us”.
