Messi Fulfilled his lifelong dream of lifting the FIFA Cup last year in Qatar. The 35-year-old finished the tournament with a golden ball for the best player in the competition and had seven goals to his name.
Little Magician from Argentina said his participation in FIFA 2026 largely depends on how his career is going at that point in time.
He told Diario Ole, a local newspaper in Argentina, “because of age it would be difficult to make it till 2026. I love playing football and while I feel like I am in good shape and enjoying this. I am going to keep it, it seems like a long time until the Next World Cup, but it all depends on how my career is then”
Argentina’s Coach Lionel Scaloni claimed last month that Messi can make it to the 2026 World Cup and said the door will always remain open for him.
Scaloni told Spanish Radio Calvia Last Month, “I think Messi can make it to the Next World Cup. “It all depends on what he wants and what happens in that time, if he is happy to go on the pitch then it would be great for us”.
