By Crox Media Desk: Another top executive from Whatsapp India has resigned. Vinay Chloletti announced his departure via his LinkedIn post on Wednesday. Chloletti joined the firm back in October 2021 as Merchant payments head at Whatsapp pay and later took charge as Whatsapp Pay India head in September 2022.
He wrote, “Today was my last day at Whatsapp Pay, and as I sign off. I can proudly say that the scaling and the Influence of Whatsapp in India have been a great experience. The last year personally has been a great learning journey and the excitement of being frontline and launching some global first payments use cases such as “QR Tickets for Bangalore Metro on WhatsApp” was unmatched. I am humbled to see the customer adoption of novel uses of the Whatsapp app today that they can use to make bank payments. I will now wear these badges proudly for the rest of my life”
Chloletti didn’t reveal his future plans as of now he wrote, “As I move on to the next adventure, I strongly believe that WhatsApp has phenomenally transformed in terms of digital payments and Financial Inclusion in India and I look forward to seeing its potential in next few years.”
Chloletti’s exit comes after several top executives left the company including Whatsapp head India Abhijit Bose and Meta Public Policy director Rajiv Agarwal. Recently, Meta India chief Ajit Mohan also quit the firm to join the rival “Snap”.
Whatsapp India Public Policy is now headed by Shivnath Thukral, who was the director of WhatsApp Public Policy in the country.
