Justice DY Chandrachud takes oath as the 50th Chief Justice of India

Justice DY Chandrachud will be serving as the 50th Chief Justice of India. He will have a tenure of around 2 years at the Supreme Court.

Crox Media Desk reports: Justice DY Chandrachud took oath as the 50th Chief Justice of India (CJI) on Wednesday, after serving as a judge of the Supreme Court.

His father was also a former CJI, YV Chandrachud. Justice Chandrachud and his father are not the only father-son duo to have reached this position in the history of the country’s judicial custody.

Over the years, Justice Chandrachud, who will be leading by example at the Supreme Court for important events in the future, has been described by some as “a liberal’s favorite” and progressive by others.

Chief Justice of India DY Chandrachud offered his tribute to the “Father of the Nation” after taking oath.

The country has its 50th CJI having the courage of conviction, someone who has always fought for the rights of citizens, a quality that has shown in these judgments. with several dissenting opinions, several well-crafted judgments, and some inspiring and great observations. Justice Chandrachud has them all. And he has made several great decisions, including on fundamental rights, privacy, gender equality, the rights of women, and the LGBTQ category.
