Former cricketer and Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan shot 3–4 times in the leg when he was addressing the “Freedom Rally” in Wazirabad. The incident happened at Zafaralli Khan Chowk.
By Crox Media Desk: The former prime minister was shot multiple times in his leg on Thursday while he was addressing a “freedom” rally in Wazirabad. Four others were injured in this incident.
Soon after the incident, Imran Khan was transferred from a container to a bulletproof vehicle.
Several videos from the rally showed Imran Khan being transferred to a bulletproof vehicle after firing. He was travelling in an open vehicle. Various sources claimed that Faisal Javed, one of his main assistants, was brutally injured too.
PTI leader Fawad Chaudhary said that miscreants shot Imran Khan with an AK-47. It was a pre-planned attack, and Khan has been moved from Lahore and will be taken to the hospital, according to former minister Asad Umar.
A video grab from the rally showed the attacker showing a pistol in the air. However, the attacker had been arrested by the local police. PTI said a protest will be held in Liberty Chowk against the “cowardly attack” on the chairperson. All the workers and protesters should reach the Liberty Chowk president, Sheikh Imtiaz Mehmood.
Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sherif condemned the attack on Imran Khan and immediately ordered Minister Rana Sanaullah to seek a report from the inspector general of police and chief secretary of Punjab in Pakistan.
