Citroen Basalt SUV to be introduced on March 27, a direct rival to Hyundai Creta and KIA Seltos.

Citron Basalt would be a direct rival to Hyundai Creta, KIA Seltos, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder, and upcoming cars from TATA i.e. TATA Curvv. 

By CROX Times Desk: Citroen is all set to unveil its SUV Coupe, the Citroen Basalt today. The model would sit in Aircross in the company’s India line-up. 

The French automobile brand currently offers four models in the country. These are the C3 Hatchback, E-C3 hatchback, C3 Aircross mid-size SUV, and C5 Aircross Premium SUV. The vehicles are currently produced at Citroen’s Thriuvallur plant in Tamil Naidu. 

For reference, the Citroen Basalt will enter the mid-SUV segment in India. This car will be a direct rival to the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder, Honda Elevate, Skoda Kushaq, Volkswagen Taigun and MG Astor. 

The Citroen Basalt’s feature list could all LED lighting, 17-inch alloys, an electric sunroof, a touchscreen infotainment system, front ventilated seats, and Six Airbags. 

The upcoming Basalt is expected to employ Citroen’s globally acclaimed 1.2-liter Gen-3 Turbo PureTech Petrol, which generates a maximum power of 110PS and a peak torque of 190NM. As far as the transmission goes, it would have a 6-speed MT and a 6-speed AT. 

The pricing of Citroen Basalt goes between 10 Lakh and INR 16 Lakh (Ex-showroom Price)
