Twitter Blue Subscriptions relaunched today, Know its pricing and benefits here

The pricing of Android is unclear as Twitter is seemingly testing Twitter blue with iPhone and web users first. This is clearly understood that Twitter Blue Subscription would be higher for Android as compared to other platforms.

Keeping it short

  • Twitter claims that users who want the blue badge for their account will need to verify their mobile numbers.
  • The specific availability of the blue badge remains quite unclear.
  • Twitter is likely to take measures restricting users to change their usernames as well.

By Crox Media Desk:   The social platform is relaunching its blue badge subscription from today i.e., 12th December. This revamped blue mark will let users get it for their profile which was earlier restricted to journalists, celebrities, and politicians. Twitter also said earlier that people who have a blue tick on their profile need to pay the amount to retain it. The Blue Subscription will cost $8 (roughly RS 660) and for the web platform $11 (nearly 900) for iPhone it is slightly higher on apple’s platform to compensate for the 30 percent fee that app developers need to pay to Apple App Store.

The pricing of Android still remains unclear since Twitter is seemingly testing blue tick with iPhone and web users first. Twitter Blue Subscription could be priced higher for Android to compensate the developer’s fee.

Twitter who wants blue badge on their profiles needs to verify their mobile numbers. The company introduced this security option as many spam and parody profiles were verified last time when the blue subscription was rolled out. Twitter blue subscribers will get access to new features. New features for the subscribers include fewer ads, better visibility of posts and profiles, and the ability to post videos of longer duration as well.

Twitter is also taking measures to restrict verified users from changing their profiles. The last time twitter blue was available to users, many parody accounts changed their names, and DP and try to imitate famous celebrities such as Elon Musk.

India-specific details are still not clear. We will update here as soon as we get some information regarding the same.
