Maruti Suzuki Alto is direct rival to Renault Kwid.
By CROX Times Desk: The Maruti Suzuki Alto is not able to make it to the among the top 10 selling cars in India FY24. Currently, it is in the 15th Position with wholesales of 102,622 units from February to April. Mahindra’s Scorpio, with a volume of 126,311 units.
Over the decade, Alto has been among the best-selling cars in India. For reference, Maruti Suzuki managed to sell over 1,70,000 units of this entry-level model in FY23 and 145,167 Units in FY22.
However, the entry-level hatchback segment, in which currently ALTO operates has witnessed a sudden decline in sales due to enhanced acquisition costs. Not only that the rising volume of SUVs has impacted the hatchback volume.
The Maruti Suzuki Alto K10 deploys a 1.0 Litre K10C petrol engine that generates 67PS and 89NM. The engine can be mated either with a 5-speed MT or 5-speed AMT. Along with this, the car comes with a CNG option (57PS and 82NM) with a 5-speed MT.
