Dharmendra made his film Industry Debut with Dil Bhi Tera Hum Bhi Tere in 1960 and celebrated his birthday with his son and grandson. A special Puja was organized and Bobby Deol took his Instagram and shared a photo with his father and Nephew Karan Deol. He wrote “So blessed to be your son and grandson, Happy Birthday Papa”, and Sunny Deol commented Happy Birthday Papa with heart emojis.
Not just that his die-heart fans also celebrated his birthday by gathering outside his residence in Mumbai. Since morning his fans gathered outside his residence to make him feel special on this day and they greeted him with gifts and sweets. Several Pictures have been shared online.

In 1997 he received a Filmfare Lifetime Achievement Award for his contribution to Hindi Cinema.
