By Crox Media Desk: This year 2022 is when the Bollywood filmmakers came to face to face with the reality of dropping box office returns and the overall scenario of the film Industry. The Pandemic completely changed cinema patterns and Cinema patterns are longer restricted to Hindi Movies like they used to be. There was a time Bollywood was facing quite difficult times, the filmmakers in the South India Cinema broke the barriers and expanded the market for their films globally.
During a recent actor’s roundtable, the stalwarts of South Cinema weighed in on the Current Bollywood Condition. Filmmaker-actor Kamal Hassan recalled the time when he looked for inspiration from Hindi Cinema.
Kamal Said at the Film Companion’s the Filmmakers’ Adda, “Before Watching English Films, watch Indian Films. Watch Hindi Cinema and Bengali cinema. Because when you Hindi Cinema doesn’t know anything then you are wrong here. I have taken quite an inspiration from it. There’s something according to the way the commercial world moves Right Now, it’s shining in the south. We hope to keep it that way. Kamal said at the Film Companion’s The Filmmaker’s Adda.
In 2022 Kamal himself pulled off one of the biggest hits of his career “Vikram” with over 400 crores of box office business globally. As he has lined up other projects as well including one with mani Ratnam in the bag.
Filmmaker SS Rajamouli also weighed in. He noted that comfort is the biggest enemy of creativity. “If your film is doing good business at the time of announcement then you might receive a good response at the box office as well.”
Rajamouli is now enjoying the global success of his blockbuster “RRR” which recently bagged two Golden Globes Nominations increasing the film’s chances to get nominated at the Oscars.
