By CROX Media Desk: The government on Thursday announced it will expand and strengthen the electric vehicle (EV) ecosystem in the country by supporting manufacturing and charging infrastructure.
The government will encourage the greater adoption of electric buses for public transport networks through a payment security mechanism.
There was a handsome growth in the sales of EVs in India over 2023 over 2022. According to the data from the industry body Federation of Automobile Dealers Association (FADA), the details of electric passengers rose to over 100% and commercial vehicles jumped over 114%.
Announcing the interim budget, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman announced, “Our government will expand and strengthen the EV ecosystem by supporting manufacturing and changing the infrastructure of the sector”
She further added, “Greater Adoption of electric buses for public transport networks will be encouraged through this safe payment mechanism”
More EVs is likely to be seen on the roads of India.
