The Sedan Segment, including compact and mid-size, had a share of only 8.1 % in the domestic market in the month of October 2023.
By Crox Times Desk: The Mid-size segment’s disappointing run continues with only the Hyundai Verna clocking more than 2,000 units in the volume of October 2023. Other models like Skoda Slavia, Volkswagen Virtus, and Honda City got sales of less than 2,000 units, while the Maruti Suzuki Ciaz could not reach even 1,000 units.
The growing popularity of SUVs has immensely impacted the sales of Sedan Segment. For instance, the SUV segment had a share of 50.7% in the domestic Indian Car Market in October 2023. In comparison to that, the sedan segment has merely 8.1% with the major contribution from the compact models.
Let’s take a look at the sales performance of mid-size sedans in October 2023.
Hyundai Verna
The Verna was the largest selling mid-size at 2,313 units. The car is priced between INR 10.96 Lakh and INR 12.45 Lakh (Ex-showroom).
Maruti Ciaz
The Ciaz recorded only 695 units. The car is priced between INR 9.30 lakh and 12.45 (Ex-showroom price).
Skoda Slavia
The Slavia registered sales of 1,943 Units. The car is priced range of INR 10.90 Lakh to INR 19.12 Lakh (Ex-showroom).
Honda City
The city was disappointed again with sales of merely 1553 units. The car is priced between INR 11.62 lakh and INR 20.39 Lakh.
