Hyundai Exter VS Tata Punch: Which car dominated the micro-SUV segment in October?

The TATA Punch and Hyundai Exter are the two most popular compact SUVs in India. 

By CROX Times Desk: There is stiff competition between the newly launched Hyundai Exter and the dominating TATA Punch. Well, TATA punch has outnumbered the Hyundai Exter in terms of volumes for the last 4 months from July to October 2023. 

In October, TATA managed to sell over 15,000 units of TATA Punch which is more than Hyundai Exter which was sold over 8000 units. This trend continued in the preceding months of July, August and September. 

The TATA Punch is priced between INR 6 Lakh and INR 10.10 Lakh and offers a 1.2 Litre Revotron Petrol Engine that generates 88PS and 115NM with options for 5-speed manual transmissions (MT) or 5-speed Automatic Transmissions. Not only that, there is also CNG of TATA punch is available generating 73PS and 103 NM with a 5-speed MT. 

On the other hand, the Hyundai Exter priced slightly higher INR 6 lakh to INR 10.15 Lakh (Ex-showroom Price) is equipped with 1.2 Kappa Petrol that generates 83PS and 114NM. The car provides options for 5-speed MT or 5-speed AMT. Quite similar to Punch, the Hyundai Exter also offers a CNG variant, delivering 69PS and 95NM with a 5-speed MT. 

Despite having similar specifications, the TATA Punch continues to dominate to lead in sales, indicating people prefer this over the Hyundai Exter.
