BMW Group India will launch 13 new cars in 2024, including the BMW 5 Series, BMW X3, and mini countryman.
By Crox Times Desk: BMW Group India, which has been a leader when it comes to electric car space in the country for the past two years, now will localize its EV portfolio as the volume enhances, as per the company’s official.
The company sold 1,474 Units of EVs in 2023, growing 325% year-on-year over 2022 when around 347 units were delivered. The electric lineup of CBU Models- BMW iX4, BMW i4, BMW iX, and Mini 3-Cooper SE.
The EV made up over 10% of the company’s highest-ever annual car sales at 14,172 Units in 2023.
BMW Group India President Vikram Pawah said, “At the moment, EVs are a pretty new business for us. 2023 was the year of selling EVs in the country. We have been able to get 10% of sales from EVs only. So now what we expect now, the volume is expected to grow. We will start looking to localize, as we do with any other product”
He added, “But as far as overall localization strategy is concerned. 90% of the products that we sell in our country are locally produced and have a localization content of 50%.”
And the volume of BMW electric vehicles will be increased. This is a great step to make in India.
