By Crox Times Desk: Maruti Suzuki India is expected to clock its highest ever sport Utility vehicle (SUV) volume during a fiscal at around 455,000 units in FY24 with a handsome performance from models like Maruti Breeza, and the Fronx according to a senior official.
The country’s largest carmaker has four SUVs in its portfolio- Breeza, Fronx, Jimny, and Grand Vitara. In April-December FY24, Maruti sold over 3 Lakh units of SUVs in the domestic market.
The major volume driver for the company was the Breeza at 124,215 units followed by the Fronx at 94,393 Units. The grand Vitara witnessed sales of 85k units. While these three SUVs performed well, the major disappointment was the Jimny with an underwhelming show at merely 16k Units.
Maruti’s target of record SUV volume in FY24 is a major shot with the introduction of Fronx in April 2023. While the full month (January 2024) volume for the Fronx is not yet, the carmaker recently confirmed that the sub-4 metre SUV crossed the sales milestone of 100,000 units.
