India’s largest carmaker today announced that it will increase the price of the cars from the month of April due to high-cost pressure.
In FY23, Maruti took price hikes. It increased the prices in April by around 1.3% and in January by 1.1.%.
In a regulatory filing, the company revealed it continues to witness increased cost pressure driven by overall inflation and rising demand.
The company said, “While the company makes efforts to reduce overall cost but with the rising production cost and inflation, we are going to implement this.”
They further said “The company had planned this price increase from April 2023 on all models” With RDE (real driving emission) coming into effect from April 1, several automakers are expected to hike their prices. KIA India recently launched RDE compliant vehicle line-up including seltos, sonnet and carens along with updated prices. Hyundai Motor India has recently introduced models with RDE Engines.
