By Crox Times Desk: KIA has revealed the EV5 at the KIA Chinese EV day. The EV5 is an electric concept car, that sits the EV9 electric SUV in terms of aesthetics but follows a similar ethos.
Like the KIA EV9, the EV5 Concept has been too designed keeping focus in mind. It comes with an appealing style with an upright bonnet and muscular lines. The nose has a sculpted LED daytime running light. This comes with a swivel seat in both rows making ingress and egress quite simple and Counter-hinged doors, this certainly means that there is no need for a B-pillar. These, however, did make their debut on the concept version of EV9.
While the company had not revealed its specifications yet, it is likely to use the same powertrain options as the EV6. This certainly means KIA EV5 will come with either a 58Kwh battery pack or a 77.4kWh one. The smaller battery can be specced with a 228bhp single motor and a 585bhp dual-motor setup. However, this speculation, the EV5 may debut with battery upgradation. KIA says the EV5 will make its debut in the Chinese market later this year. Whether the EV5 will be evaluated for India is yet to be seen.
