Global NCAP introduced new protocols in July 2022 to evaluate the safety standards of the cars sold in India. Under the new protocols, there are certain factors through which the safety of the cars measured like deformable barrier test, side impact test, pole side impact test, and pedestrian test were introduced. Also, ESC (Electronic Stability Control) has become mandatory for vehicles to secure high safety ratings.
The five cars from Maruti Suzuki have badly performed in safety ratings of the Global NCAP.
Maruti Suzuki Ignis
The Ignis managed to get one star in the adult occupant and zero in the child occupant category. If we talk about the pricing of the car, it goes between INR 5.84 Lakh to INR 8.25 Lakh. (Ex-showroom Price)

This would be shocking for you since WagonR is one of the largest-selling cars in the country. However, when it comes to safety it is just not up to the mark.
